Area and perimeter practice

We've done lots of work on area and perimeter in maths this week. Have a go at these games to practise working out the area and perimeter of rectangles and compound shapes:

Make sure you choose the level that's right for you.

Top of the class? That's brilliant news Lyna! Just shows that your hard work is really paying off.

Not sure where the rumour I was leaving PMPS came from. It isn't true though. I don't think my bank manager would be very happy if I was!

Hi Lauren and Ozge!

It's great to hear from both of you!

Glad to hear you're still a nice pest. I hope your ICT teacher agrees :)

And Lauren Jennings - ICT super hero?? That is top news - I knew you had it in you! Actually I have to admit that I was better at ICT than French at school.

Enjoy the rest of your year at HF!

Hi mr h
i miss you and your IT lessons so much. I wish i can have you for IT through out my school years. The other day in IT we were doing powerpoints(thats all we do!) and i used macromedia at home and other cool programmes that you showed us in y6. When i showed my IT teacher HE WAS BLOWENED AWAY AND DIDNT KNOW HOW I DID IT! I mean come on... we learnt that in year 6 and he is something like 22-30 and doesnt know what these programmes do! Anyways... secondary is O.K. However, i prefer primary. As you said, i dont have much time to WOW the school with my music skills because there are much better musicians(one playing the violin and another playing piano) but im going to start guitar lessons on the first wednesday back! :)

Raneem:)*_*

Hi Raneem!

Great to hear from you again - and thanks for your kind words about my ICT lessons :)

It's a shame that ICT is a bit of a disappointment at your secondary school - especially after all those exciting little projects we did last year.

I really think you should try to persuade your headteacher to get somebody to come in and run an after-school club for children who want to learn advanced ICT skills.

You could write a polite letter to your head teacher basically saying much of what you said in your comment. Maybe include a few examples of stuff you've done and stuff you'd like to do. Things like film editing, stop frame animation, programming, flash animation, web design, music making etc.

GOOD LUCK! Let me know how you get on.

That's top news, Lauren! You obviously have a talent for languages :) I suspect your French is probably already better than mine.
